Jeannie Wedding Dress

The Wedding Countdown continues! One and a half weeks from today will mark the beginning of the coolest life adventure with the best guy around. I keep pinching myself wondering if it’s all real! Being engaged is such a fairytale. But with all the planning and anticipation of a 15-month engagement, I’m so ready to just be married. Can any of you relate?

Many of you are also engaged (or have sisters, friends, cousins that are wedding prepping as well) and are wondering if I have any tips/tricks I can share (beauty, workouts, diet, stress management, etc). I thought I’d take a moment to quickly jot down some of my best secrets as the Big Day approaches! Here goes.

  1. Diet. There are two definitions, and I’d like to specify the one to which I’m referring: The kinds of food that a person habitually eats. (NOT to be confused with: a special course of food to which one restricts oneself, either to lose weight or for medical reasons.) There really is a distinction. Over the course of the past few years, I’ve started to learn what kinds of  foods work best for my body, and I’ve focused on sticking with those in order to feel better and function optimally -- i.e. with enough energy, stamina, and brain power to make each day as efficient and effective as possible (super important given everything on my plate these days). My go-to’s include: a #FabFourSmoothie with collagen (see recipe below), kale and spinach salads, eggs, avocados, salmon, roasted broccoli, blueberries, nuts, bone broth, bulletproof matchas, cacao, and yes - a glass or two of red wine on occasion. 2. Fitness. (also doubles as Stress Management). My go-to workouts these days have pretty much only included pilates [solidcore] and, of course, yoga. I find that low-impact workouts feel best in my body (most) days. Without the adrenal fatigue that can often come with cardio 4-5x per week, I’ve felt SO much better throughout the day and can fit more workouts into my week without feeling drained. 3. Beauty. I’ve got to be honest, I’m pretty low maintenance when it comes to my beauty routine. Since finding which facial products work best for me (see my favorites here) and eliminating most toxic home and beauty products from my life, I’ve started to rely more on my diet to further elevate my vibrance. My number one go-to? COLLAGEN.

BEAUTY BENEFITS OF COLLAGEN INCLUDE:

  • Promoting collagen formation, affecting hair, skin and nails

SKIN NOURISHMENT:

  • Collagen helps support the skin's moisture, improving the elasticity, tone and vibrance that's already within you.

  • It’s truly a natural (and simple) ways to combat the signs of aging

Many of the Vital Proteins products are odorless and tasteless powders that dissolve instantly in liquids. They can be mixed into water, beverages, smoothies, and food recipes – making them easy to incorporate into whatever your diet is! Below is just one way to include more collagen into your diet.
